The mechanical movement of the RM 055 is constructed using grade 5 titanium, which not only offers exceptional strength but also showcases a stunning skeletonized design. The baseplate and bridges of the movement undergo a special PVD and Titalyt® treatment, ensuring rigidity and precise surface flatness. These features are crucial for the smooth functioning of the gear train.

Rigorous Testing and Durability

The skeletonized baseplate and bridges of the RM 055 have undergone intensive validation tests to maximize their resistance capabilities. As a result, the Caliber RMUL2 movement can withstand accelerations of over 5000 g’s, making it highly durable and reliable.

Enhanced Chronometric Performance

The RM 055 incorporates a free-sprung balance that enhances reliability during shocks, movement assembly or disassembly. Additionally, the elimination of the regulator index allows for more accurate and repeatable calibration. The balance also features four small adjustable weights directly on it, enabling precise timekeeping.

Double-Barrel System for Long-Term Performance

To improve torque stability over time, the RM 055 utilizes a double-barrel system. This design distributes the stored energy across two winding barrels instead of one, reducing pressure on the teeth, bearings, and pivots. The result is better long-term performance and increased rotations.
