Greubel Forsey have gone beyond the conventional means of displaying this practical and highly-valued complication with a rotating terrestrial globe allowing the continents to be cross-referenced with the 24-hour, day-and-night indicator on the equatorial chapter ring to offer an intuitive view of time all over the world. A lateral window integrated into the case-band at 8 o’clock floods the globe with light to symbolize daytime and reveals more of the southern hemisphere.
The globe is complemented by the second time zone (GMT) at 10 o’clock, small seconds sub-dial and sectorial power-reserve indicator.
The display back reveals a 'world time' disc synchronized with the globe and bearing the names of 24 cities, each representing one of 24 world time-zones. Cities using summertime are on a light background and their timezone is easily referenced on the inner ring, while a yellow gold disc symbolizes the sun at midday.
