Prestigious and unique medieval castle with tower, inner court, church, park, and olive grove for sale near Arezzo. Perched on a hill, with its imposing structure dominates an enchanting panorama with an open view over the Val di Chiana, Cortona, Arezzo, and Lake Trasimeno, a place that preserves intact the elements of its long history dating back thousands of years. It was owned by Emperor Otto I, who mentions it among his possessions in 963, and over the centuries it was designated first as a defense and after as a hospital for pilgrims and travelers on their way to Rome. In the 1800s it evolved into the noble residence of marquises who transformed it into a traditional Tuscan agricultural farm. Its cultural-historical value is found in the many elements preserved over the centuries, including the tower, the battlements, and the inner courtyard with arcaded porticos. The main facade, with three floors above ground, has the typical noble villas plastered facade while the central body retains its stone structure from which the tower rises. Inside the courtyard, beside the deep well, an imposing stone staircase leads to the noble floors. Off the corridor facing the courtyard access into the grand halls, all paved in terracotta tiles and featuring polished stone fireplaces. Its 46 rooms boasts imposing wooden beamed ceilings, brick arches, original wooden doors, and large windows filling each room with natural light. Of particular note is a covered quarterdeck room with a brick barrel vault known as the "hall of arms." The castle is under restoration with a redevelopment project aimed at preserving a thousand-year-old heritage and protecting its original details. Belonging to the castle are a former rectory building with a church to be restored completely and with the possibility of extension, on the front of the castle a semi-detached country house and two outbuildings. The land to the southeast hosts an olive grove with 450 trees, while the north side of the castle consists mainly of parkland and forest. A historic mansion full of charm surrounded by a large park and spectacular panoramic views with breathtaking sunsets, ideal for various uses, from private residences to tourist hospitality with exceptional transformation potential into a luxury resort and the possibility of creating a spa with Roman bath, outdoor pool and a heliport.
