Century Castle with charming little church, inside the park, multiples bedrooms in Torre Canavese - Piedmont

In the highest part of the town of Torre Canavese (TO), Italy, we offer this magnificent castle, whose construction dates back to the time of King Arduino. The castle is owned by the Datrino family; the late Marco Datrino was one of the greatest Italian antique dealers and was the author of the great exhibitions "TREAS OF THE KREMLIN" and "GEMS AND DIAMONDS FROM THE KREMLIN" that made Russian treasures known to the whole world.

In the 90s, the Castle hosted the largest exhibition in the world of Russian works and treasures that for the first time left the country. Marco Datrino contributed to making the beauty and priceless value of Russian works and artists known to the world. Over 140,000 people visited the exhibition.

This Castle is a piece of Italian history furnished with unique pieces of art and antiques.

The castle is made up of three floors above ground and each floor of about 600 square meters, boasts unique and original finishes. Imposing and majestic in its dimensions, it boasts, in addition to the central body of the castle itself, an independent villa and a partially renovated farmhouse. The charming little church, inside the park, houses the original tunic of San Giovanni Bosco. The Chapel of San Martino was dedicated to the Madonna della Neve. This 3000 m2 covered property offers a unique location and a magnificent view of the Canavese territory.

History tells us that the Castle was founded on an existing Romanesque tower by a son of Arduino in 998, the second son Guidone who apparently lived in the castle until 1018, when he was elected Marquis of Ivrea.

Location: Overlooked by the imposing buildings of the historic center, Torre Canavese stretches out on the slope of a hill, the extreme western offshoot of the Morainic Amphitheater of Ivrea, the largest in Europe, created by the retreat of the imposing Alpine glaciers. Only 30 minutes to Torino.

The village was contested for centuries by the major families of Canavese, from the San Martino to the Antoniono, from the Stria to the Roddi di Cinzano to the Balbo di Vinadio; in the meantime, generations of generous and stubborn farmers transformed it into a garden of terraced vineyards, cultivated fields, and lovingly cared for woods

In the village there is also a small art gallery named after Raissa Gorbaciova where periodic exhibitions are held.

In the historic center, along the path known as “Viassa”, the cinematographic universe of the famous Italian director Federico Fellini has been reconstructed, in a journey that retraces, through images, his cult films: a permanent installation that is worth visiting during the day or in the evening, illuminated in an evocative atmosphere.
